If there is any beauty to be found in this terrible global COVID19 crisis, it is the way in which we have been robbed of the facades which have sometimes damaged our selves and our environment. We as a people have been forced to reveal our true selves during this pandemic. Even our earth is revealing her true colors.

I hope Jimmy Fallon never returns to the studio. I am completely blown away by the vulnerability he has demonstrated. Without a second thought he invited us into his home and into his family and the experience is totally charming; it's real. I love that he doesn’t live in a fancy Hampton mansion with a butler. His house is as lived in as the one I grew up in and his authenticity is like hot cocoa on a cold January night.

Jimmy Fallon is just one example of many celebrities who have changed the way we view them simply by being brave enough to show us who they really are without the benefit of make up, calculated props and a posse of image makers behind them.

We waste so much time trying to be someone other when all we really need to be are ourselves. People want to know who we are, not who we want to be.

And if we are political minded on social media let's not repost someone else’s words to defend our positions. Let's say what we believe and why we believe it, based on our life experiences. That may be the best way to win folks over. Let's not let someone speak for us. We can speak for our selves.

If you just can’t help yourself but follow the latest trends, just remember: Authenticity is the new black!
